The I-DireCT partners University of Groningen (UMCG) and Surflay (SURF) came together on October 31 and November 1, 2019, for a bilateral meeting in Berlin. Apart from the coordinator Edwin Bremer (UMCG) and the team from Surflay (Lars Dähne, Aline Debrassi, Kerstin Zimmermann, Wei Wan, Marc Hovestädt), the PhD students of both institutions were present at the event. The goal was to get to know each other and to harmonise the project activitities between the partners. First, Edwin Bremer gave an overview of the project's work plan, which was followed by presentations of the students Jimena Álvarez, Natascha Avtenyuk, Ghizlane Choukrani and Vrouyr Bilemjian, who introduced their work performed so far.
All participants enjoyed the meeting and highlighted that it was very useful to discuss some open questions. The whole I-DireCT consortium and the PhD students will come together for the first annual meeting on December 2-3, 2019, in Sint-Michielsgestel, the Netherlands.
